After passing my CBT, my first road bike was a Honda CA125 "Rebel". Great to learn on, with a really low centre of gravity. Comfy seat too.

Once I'd passed my test I moved onto a Suzuki GS500e. Wonderful bike. Never went wrong in 30 months of use. As far as I know its still buzzing around somewhere. Cheap insurance, loads of MPG, and fast enough to beat most cars away from the lights. Only sold when I decided to move onto a different style of bike.
